DSP Usamn Gujar Case Punjab Police Latest News

A shocking revelation has emerged in Lahore involving a senior police officer accused of murdering two members of his own family, causing deep concern within police and judicial circles. According to details, DSP Usman Ghajar has confessed to shooting his wife and 19-year-old daughter inside his car using his own pistol.

Background of the Incident

The incident occurred two months ago when DSP Usman Ghajar’s wife and daughter went missing. Ghajar himself had registered a kidnapping case and continued performing his duties as usual.

How the Investigation Unfolded

According to police, a major breakthrough in the case came when the victim’s sister filed a complaint with higher authorities, expressing suspicion that her sister and niece had been harmed by their husband and father. The complaint alleged that the accused was receiving protection from Lahore police and that threats were being issued against her.

Following this complaint, police decided to reinvestigate the matter seriously. The investigative process included analyzing the accused’s mobile phone data and conducting forensic examination of his official vehicle. Bloodstains were found under the car’s seat, and blood-stained tissues were also recovered from his home. These samples were sent to the lab.

Confession and Modus Operandi

After gathering evidence, police arrested DSP Usman Ghajar. During interrogation, he confessed to his crime, stating that he had dinner with his wife and daughter at DHA Lahore, then shot them inside his car on Ring Road using his personal 9mm pistol.

The alleged motive for the murder was the wife and daughter’s objection to Ghajar’s second marriage. After the murder, the accused disposed of his daughter’s body in a dirty drain near Kasur district, and his wife’s body near Sheikhupura. Both unidentified bodies were later buried by local police after funeral rites.

The accused admitted to not taking his driver or gunman along on the day of the murder.

Accused’s Rank and Current Status

It is important to note that DSP Usman Ghajar was undergoing training for the post of SP at the Sahala Police Training College at the time of his arrest, having recently been promoted from the rank of DSP.

The case is now under high-level investigation and being processed according to the law. This incident has raised serious questions about accountability and psychological evaluation processes within the police force.
